The Vision
Honoring, Valuing, Respecting and Training the Direct Caregiver, thus assuring that
people who need care are treated with Skill, Dignity, and Compassion
Our Mission
To increase the number of trained, qualified Direct Caregivers to care for elders
and disabled individuals
Tucson Caregiver Resource Center
In recognition of our program's success and to support its expansion, the City of Tucson awarded us a
Community Development Block Grant of $60,000 to lease long-term and build out a 3779 SF
warehouse space owned by Goodwill Industries to become Tucson's CareGiver Resource Center.
The Center will provide a comprehensive, one stop center for community-wide recruitment of caregivers;
screening, training and introduction to the workforce; job placement; continuing education,
mentoring, and support.
We have received a $10,000 lead gift from the Diamond Foundation, and now seek the assistance of
other far-sighted foundations and businesses to complete the build-out.

Because we have had no permanent space,
we had to move our classes to different facilities almost quarterly;
the small size of all training spaces severely limited the number
of trainees we could accommodate. The new facility will double our
training space to include two large classrooms, add a dedicated cooking
instructional facility, and expand our skills lab to accommodate five
hospital beds.
The cooking facility will allow us to offer in-depth instruction in cooking and nutrition,
especially important as people desire care in their homes or in family-like settings. The
expanded skills lab will allow trainees to practice their skills before they work with
actual clients.
