"There was an opening here at Atria Campana Del Rio and I chose
the opportunity. This was my first full-time job as a caregiver
so I had to be trained. DCGA gave me the opportunity to learn. The
training was excellent. We were a group of twenty people and it
was very nice. I was happy to go back to school for more education."

close to them very quickly because I love to help them. When they
go, I cry. But I share with my partners and I understand life is like

The time that is taken to make sure that the student really understands is the key to success. The
willingness of the whole staff of DCGA is 100% supportive. If you have a personal or school problem,
they help you work it through so you succeed in the program and in your job. As graduates we know that
even after training DCGA is still there to help us with any problems that might arise. We know we can

"What I enjoy the most about this work is interacting with the
residents, because most of the time, they sincerely appreciate your
care. Even when the Dementia is too much and they really don’t know
what you’re doing, their families really respond. That’s just wonderful
seeing the response, being able to help people and seeing them appreciate
that."

But I’m really glad I did because at that stage of life, you’re ready
to do something a little more fulfilling. As you get older, your pace
of life changes and you feel more in tune with this. I see a lot of
youngsters training, and older women too. The older ones, they seem
